Bell UH-1B multi-role helicopter - the original:
The Bell UH-1b Iroquois (Huey) is a light multi-purpose helicopter that was extremely popular and successful in both military and civilian use. The first aircraft were manufactured and delivered in 1959. Its primary role was intended to be the rescue of the wounded, but later the Huey took on numerous other tasks. Today, the Bell UH-1 is a classic aircraft and a true rarity in the sky.
Bell UH-1B multi-role helicopter - the model:
The basis of the Bell UH1b:
The installation into the fuselage of the Bell UH1b in 1:12 scale was done over the years 2013/2014. For this purpose, the mechanics of the Ornit have been adapted to the requirements of the hull.
The details of the Bell UH1b:
The fuselage itself has been completely redesigned. The existing paintwork was sanded, and countless rivets, antennas, mirrors, handles and holding rails were attached. The paintwork has been refreshed with the original colors.
In addition, a true-to-size, scale cockpit was implemented. The lighting is also properly installed according to the original.
In addition, the model was equipped with a specially made, true-to-scale main and tail rotor head, manufactured by SK-Rotorkopf from Germany. This special design allows the tail rotor speed to be adjusted independently of the main rotor using a second motor.
A toothed belt or a rigid shaft, as is usually the case with model helicopters, is not required here.
