Qingdao can be easily reached within China by train or plane. In some cases, direct international connections are also offered.

Qingdao's History and Cultural Heritage:

Qingdao has a rich history dating back to ancient times. The city was first founded in 1891 under German colonial rule. It was part of the German area of influence in China until the end of the First World War.

This historical influence can still be clearly seen in many of the city's architectural treasures today. Especially in the center of Qingdao, where the German quarter is located.

The German Quarter – A walk through history:

The German Quarter is one of Qingdao's main attractions and impresses with its well-preserved buildings in the German architectural style.

Visitors can stroll through the tree-lined streets and admire the distinctive architecture reminiscent of times gone by.

The world-famous “Tsingtao Beer Museum” can also be found here and offers an insight into the history of beer production in the city.

St. Michael’s Cathedral – An architectural jewel:

St. Michael’s Cathedral is another impressive sight in the German Quarter.

Built in the neo-Gothic style, the cathedral is the tallest building in the city center and a landmark of Qingdao.

Visitors can admire the majestic architecture and experience the peace and serenity of the interior.

The Zhanqiao Pier – A symbol of the city:

The Zhanqiao Pier is one of Qingdao's most recognizable landmarks and a popular spot for coastal walks.

Built in 1900, the pier stretches 440 meters out into the sea and offers wonderful views of Qingdao Bay.

At the end of the pier is the famous “Huilan Pavilion,” from which visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the sea.

The Qingdao Beer Festival:

Another highlight in Qingdao is the annual beer festival, which is one of the largest beer festivals in Asia.

The festival, held in summer, offers visitors the opportunity to taste different varieties of Qingdao's famous Tsingtao beer and take part in exciting events.

The Beer Festival attracts thousands of visitors from around the world every year and features a mix of traditional Chinese cultural events, beer competitions and entertainment shows.

The majestic LaoShan Mountain:

There are a variety of accommodation options around the mountain, which are suitable as a starting point for excursions.

Partly integrated into the landscape, the accommodations offer wonderful views over the mountains and the sea.

For nature lovers and hikers, LaoShan Mountain is an absolute must.

The mountain, located about 30 kilometers east of Qingdao, is one of China's sacred mountains and is known for its breathtaking beauty and spiritual significance.

At 1,132 meters high, LaoShan Mountain offers a variety of hiking trails and views that allow one to explore and admire the surrounding landscape.

The peaks offer spectacular panoramic views of the sea, coast and surrounding valleys.
