Tour to the Baipu Temple near Beijing:

From the city center in Beijing, tours and excursions are offered by various tour operators every weekend.

Baipu Temple is a popular destination that only takes a day to complete.

The complex is located in the mountains, northwest of the city center in the district of Mentougou. Depending on traffic, you have to calculate about two hours for the one-way trip.

The temple complex was built during the Liao dynasty and bears the name because of two waterfalls. However, these can only be seen behind the temple in summer when it has rained before.

This temple is particularly interesting for the ornate decorations and figures that can be seen throughout the grounds. It is visited by believers in Buddhism and Taoism alike.

The gigantic guards, who are supposed to protect the sacred rooms, are impressive and frightening.
The entire facility has been extensively restored in recent years. The design of the buildings is quite unique, making Baipu Temple particularly popular.

In the winter and spring months, the temple is even less crowded and one can quietly enjoy the spiritual atmosphere.

Spring is a particularly good time to visit. A visit is recommended during the cherry and peach blossom season.

A bird's eye view of the area. In addition to visiting the complex, smaller hikes and a climb to a temple cave in the immediate vicinity can also be made.

Conclusion:

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Beijing, head out early on weekends to avoid traffic jams.

Baipu Temple is an interesting destination to visit in one day.

Especially those who are interested in temples or architecture should not miss a visit.
