Langkawi, Koh Lipe & Kuala Lumpur - Travel planning:

The round trip from Langkawi via Koh Lipe to Kuala Lumpur was planned for eight days. From Beijing, we flew to Langkawi via Kuala Lumpur, a journey that took five hours.

Langkawi Island, we took a boat to Koh Lipe Island for two days. Afterwards, with another overnight stay on Langkawi, we travelled to Kuala Lumpur for a day and a half and from there back to Beijing.

For our stay in Langkawi, we booked the Wings for the first and last night. by We booked the Croske Resort. The hotel is within walking distance of the airport, which saves a lot of time on arrival and departure days and reduces luggage problems. We spent the second night at the Berjaya Resort. On Koh Lipe, we stayed at the Castaway Resort for two nights. In Kuala Lumpur, we booked one night at the Le Méridien Hotel near the central train station, which has excellent transport connections to the airport.

Malaysia, like Thailand, enjoys warm summer weather year-round. From April to October is the rainy season, during which significantly more rainfall is to be expected.

Arrival in Langkawi:

A boat trip through the Kilim mangroves on Langkawi is an unforgettable nature experience full of fascinating impressions. In the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, a UNESCO-recognized geopark, the journey leads through a vast network of mangrove forests, waterways, and limestone formations.

The first exciting stop is the famous Bat Cave Langkawi. Countless bats hang from the ceiling in the cool, dark cave, creating a mysterious atmosphere.

With a little observation, you can even spot the world's smallest bees nearby. They build their tiny nests in the mangroves. An often overlooked but fascinating detail of this unique environment. Throughout the tour, you'll encounter cheeky and inquisitive monkeys frolicking along the banks, curiously watching the passing boats.

Another highlight of the tour is lunch on a floating village, the Kilim Floating Village. This village also houses a fish farm, which is part of the UNESCO Geopark and offers fascinating insights into the local marine life.

Visitors can experience various fish species and other marine animals up close. They also learn a great deal about the sustainable use of natural resources.

After a break at Kilim Floating Village, the journey continues through the impressive wildlife of Langkawi.

In the afternoon, a visit to the beach is also on the agenda. Here you can cool off in the clear water before the return trip to the floating village begins.

With a bit of luck, you might also spot otters playfully gliding through the water.

The animals watch us curiously, hoping to get a bite of fish.

Between treetops and spectacled langurs – The Berjaya Experience:
